Crew Forum > Extremely Curious

I have been watching the show for awhile now, and I been reading some of these posts about people who want to be on a crab boat, and I am just dying of curiousity on what makes you want to do this job. I mean to risk your life everytime your out there.

I see that the money is quite amazing sometimes, and other times you hardly make enough to do anything esp in today's day and age with gas prices and the price of living.

So I mean what makes you get to the point of thinking "I want to be a crab fisherman". Are you either a thrill seeker or just someone who wants to give it a shot.

i don't think anyone grows up thinking i want to be a crabber...(until now maybe) but it's a transition... for me i fished salmon, then the bering sea sounded like an experience... boy was i right, greenhorn year with monte and now with keith and monte on the wizard... thrill seekers...probably... there are more that want to see if they "have what it takes"... than those that do... and with the fuel price and ratz... well you could call some of us dumb...lol...but it's in our blood and it's what we do...
